Fred Sherwood Transport strives to put customer needs first. With efficient nationwide coverage serviced by a modern fleet of vehicles, we are committed to providing the best in the industry. We are pioneers in the haulage industry with our heritage dating back to the 1920’s when Fred Sherwood bought his first Bedford Van.

The company continues to be run by the Sherwood family and we put customers at the very heart of our business. Our “green fleet” is refreshed every five years and we operate effective nationwide coverage using our own vehicles as well those of our sister company Bulk Freight, with a total fleet of almost 250.

Walking Floors, Ejectors & Tippers

We operate a fleet of over 115 articulated vehicles, which are changed every five years. This ensures we operate a “green fleet” which meets the current exhaust emission regulations.

With such a comprehensive fleet of trailers, walking floors ranging from 120-130cu3 yds and tipper trailers built to transport Cat 3 food waste and aggregates, we can offer our customers a wide range of vehicles to meet just about every haulage requirement.

We are one of the largest waste haulage companies in the UK and are proud of our reputation as innovators and our 24 hour service.

Our Headquarters

We undertake all our vehicle and trailer servicing at the Fred Sherwood Group headquarters in Shepshed. This is where we house our own extensive vehicle and body workshops, large inspection pits and state of the art truck servicing equipment. The body workshop can handle everything from minor body repairs to major body rebuilds.

Our training facilities are also housed at Shepshed and this is where we conduct all our driver instruction and health and safety training as well as conducting driver tachograph analysis, to ensure that all our drivers and staff are up to date with the latest regulations.

Dry cargo storage facilities are also available at our headquarters.
